Finding our True North®

Clean Beauty vs. Natural Beauty

Clean Beauty vs. Natural Beauty

There has been a lot of talk recently about clean beauty. But what does “clean” mean? A lot of people assume that clean means natural, organic, and/or vegan but that is not the case. Clean beauty refers to a beauty product that is made from non-toxic and non-harmful ingredients and does not test on animals. However clean beauty can actually use animal by-products and does not need to use only natural or organic ingredients. It also can mean that you use lab created ingredients in place of natural ingredients, especially when sustainability and animals are of concern.

Phew. See how that can be confusing?

We don’t want for our products to be confusing to people and we believe in transparency so we wanted to break down our products a little bit further for you. Below is how we classify our products and an explanation on why they are classified that way.

Be True Collection:

All of the products are clean. The fragrance we use is a synthetic, lab created one, but it is made up of clean compounds. We call it Be True and it is our signature scent.

This collection is 99.75% natural – the .25% that is not a natural ingredient is from the fragrance.

All of the products in our Be True Collection are vegan with the exception of our Face Polish because it is made with Manuka Honey and our Tinted Lip Serum which contains beeswax.

Universal Collection:

This collection is clean and vegan.

The Facial Serum, Body Oil, and Lip Serum contain our Be True fragrance but the eye cream does not.

The Eye Cream is made up of 100% natural ingredients. The rest of the products are 99.75% natural as they contain .25% fragrance which is not a natural ingredient, but it is a clean one.

UnScented Collection:

This collection is 100% natural, vegan, and clean.

Since we do not use fragrance, there are no lab created ingredients and the natural ingredients we use are non-harmful and non-toxic.
